Tilt Assignment

My First Tilt Game--The Pie~Fairy

Tilt gaming has always been a point of interest for most of us. It brings us into action & boost our excitement levels. Not only kids but all age groups find it interesting, as it is such a magnetism technology.

This posting is about my new Tilt assignment which I really enjoyed very much. It is always fun to play such games, but to create one was an experience in itself. I learned many , things about this technology.

Before learning about this amazing & innovative technology, for me , a "Jump" was an action & "Duck" was just a bird to me :). So basically I got to learn a lot of new terms, from "Rotation & Translation Interface Modes". In simple words, these are the actions which define the speeding, rotation, tilting direction specifications, interesting eh'.

In the class, our instructor Dan explained to us Penguin and how it lets us work with mobile devices rotation and translation.

The best thing is we can design our own games & save them on to our IPhone, pods, Ipads & share them with friends. I was very excited to learn how Penguin technology works! My mind was occupied with all kind of innovative ideas like ,what if while holding our devices we jump, would it be possible to make the object jump onto our screens as well? or if it will be possible to rotate the 3D shapes while we are rotate our mobile? What if we tilt our device left & right immediately, where would our object flow & how quickly will that happen? I was eager to experiment & implement this. I was amazed to see various sites, which help us bringing our ideas into reality. I grasped from what these sites could provide, and the amount of information and codes available. All we need is to find a good idea to build on. It is not easy to obtain one, but codes have become available on the net through some open source Flash solutions. I was able to get the class of codes to tilt my object in the game by a mouse, then I got the classes I needed for mobile device from: Dan’s blog. http://penguinsflash.wordpress.com/

I’m really happy on how I have received so much help in bringing my ideas into reality & their implementation , one of them is our Professor Dan Zen. Just because there are a lot of wonderful people who like to share their experience and their knowledge with all people around world, newbies like me having multiple idea, can actually think of getting started to implement them.

This assignment enhanced my appreciation for beauty and impact of the technology. I was able to make my fairy move according to my gesture controls, by using the Penguin Tilt Emulator. That was fun, on how I can create object through hand movements & gestures, just like a magician does wave his wand, or a musician tells his orchestra to play instruments through waving his wand & actions.

I liked the idea; especially I’ll have a chance of doing some design. Which will help me to enhance my design skills and at the same time it will be a good opportunity to apply the gesture code.

The most interesting and user friendly application is penguin flash.

I tried to make a tilt game using penguin technology. Will update it here soon.
it uses the tilt emulator technology.
Penguin lets you make tilt games and applications in Flash. Penguin comes with the Penguin Tilt Emulator that has a mobile device emulator so you can tilt, turn and translate a device. This leaves tilt data (TiltML) on your machine. Penguin reads the tilt data and provides an easy way to get at Roll, Pitch, Yaw, Forward, Right and Down data.

What is Technology?

What is Technology?

Technology is a broad term that refers both to artifacts created by humans, such as machines, and the methods used to create those artifacts. More broadly, technology can be used to refer to a way of doing something or a means of organization: for instance, democracy might be considered a social technology. Technology comes from the Greek technologia, which is a combination of “techne”, meaning “craft”, and logia, meaning “saying”. Sotechnology might be considered the articulation of a craft. The word is also used to describe the extent to which a society can manipulate its environment.

Technology is usually defined as a way of doing things or means of organization to help individual and groups do their daily activities and overcome barriers. In the last century, industrial technology was focused on expanding the power of physical muscles to maximize material production and consumption. As result, all kinds of machinery were created to facilitate the expansion of industrial economy. This include cars, planes, manufacturing machines. In fact, machines shaped our lives and societies in the 20th century.

With the revolution of information technology, namely social technologies including social media, mobile devices and interactive games empowered individuals and societies in new ways. Networking technologies multiplied the brain power within groups and organizations. Knowledge and ideas replaced physical capital as the real source of production.

Falcon is a Flash ActionScript class that lets you easily send data to and from a server script - such as PHP. You make a new Falcon object and pass it the URL to your script and an object that holds variables to send. You set a COMPLETE event and get incoming variables through the Falcon data property!

Robin- Multiuser Technology

I have been studying multiuser technology and tried to apply it in a game & a chat engine. Some of the best examples are provided at my Professor's website. http://robinflash.wordpress.com/

My experience playing the multiuser games

All the VR i.e Virtual Reality games are the best examples of Multiuser technology.

A Multiuser game provides people of all ages for the video game experience together to play.

The Wii & Nindendo are the two new technologies I came across when I landed in this Country a few months ago.

Multiuser games like Tennis, It does this in an incredibly intuitive way. You will be able Tennis using Wii in the same way you play it in the field.

The best thing about the multiuser technology is that it enables anybody to play sports in video games and no need some expertise to learn it as the real one! Also I tried my hands at the boxing game with my 7 year old cousin and it gave me a smashing experience. I am totally looking forward to play the newly released Micheal jackson games on Wii.

Simply use the remote to act as your racket as you swing away the ball. Simply jump..smash your ball, and Hit the score! Take it as if you were in the field ! It’s fun and adventurous!
You can play another sports too. Each set of Wii provides “Wii Sports. Freely enjoy the fun experience in golf, baseball and bowling games!

The best part is Nintendo Wii Console system allows for up to four controllers to be linked at a time and utilizes Bluetooth wireless technology! Then you can create fun along with your family and friends!

Still don’t believe it? Come and take a look at this:
The Multiuser Technology uses acellerometers, which measure movements.

The Wireless Magic Remote of Wii is developed to have multi functional device. It has been equipped with acellerometers inside the controller to measure movement easily in all directions and at all speeds.

In a tennis game, it serves as your racket as you swing away. In driving games find it to function as a steering wheel to allow you to drive against obstacles. Or it can also act as a firearm to shoot enemy on screen.

Nintendo Wii has an expansion port for use with accessories, called as Nunchuck. It allows for up to four controllers to be linked at the same time using standard Bluetooth wireless technology. But if you prefer a traditional controller, Wii also supply for an adapter that fits over the Wii’s remote.

Each set of Nintendo Wii Console comes with a Wii Video games compilation called “Wii Sports”, which include tennis, baseball, golf, and bowling games, that performs the maximum acts of Wii Magic Remote Controller.
Wii gives a “real-time experience”. Come and find out more now here!
